The little town is very nice on a weekday, but looks like they really pack in there on the weekends. Restaurant was okay. Lemonade there was very good. Pretty views of the desert. We stayed in the RV campground where we had the most unlevel site we've had in 29 states. No way to get level without putting the tires off the ground so we "climbed" to the bedroom each night. All that desert to play in and dozens of kids played at the restrooms for two days - weird. The spaces are very tight so I guess they really couldn't hang o... read more
Love visiting calico ghost town while we are there camping. It's a nice place to camp and the kids love being able to walk into the town!
Calico Ghost Town is a really fun half-day experience. I work on theme parks for a living, and as small as it is compared to others, it's just a blast to be in the Old West and around mining equipment. My only complaint is the main sit-down restaurant was closed 10:30-12:30 for, apparently a busload of guests, so we had to plan around it...and showed up at 12:30 hungry... but they had crossed out 12:30 and wrote 1:30 and said they had another bus of people. What the heck? I can understand it the first time, but not the secon... read more
Great place. Grandfather took us kids there when we were little. Now I've taken my wife and kids there twice. The second time brought extra family. Staff there is friendly and the prices are fair.
