Very good food. I recommend this locale if it's more than one person consuming it. It's way to much for one person.
Good experience but pesto sauce was heavier than expected.
This has absolutely been my favorite Italian restaurant out of anyplace in the United States since 1991. Simple ingredients, but very tasty, including the dipping sauce that comes with your bread. The portions are very generous and meant for sharing. And the unique colorful interior décor created by the original founder is amazing. This place has been operating since 1969.
My whole family both sides loved this place. Their food is out of this world and you can taste the homemade in house not frozen quality. Parking is pretty easy with three garages within easy (I am 8 months pregnant and can walk it no problem) walking distance. I have a picky eater and they modified any dish he wanted. Caffe Sport provided our annual fundraiser, Museum of Childrens' Arts, four fabulous entrees last night. The entrees were delicious. The eggplant parmigiana, pesto penne, carne e fungi and the pizzaiola dishes were amazing. Caffe Sport, an iconic well established Italian restaurant in S. F., should not be overlooked. Nothing special except for the past history it represents. Pesto was really NOT GOOD...which was its signature offering in days gone by. Bottom line...peek in the door, but skip this one.
