wonderful, authentic italian caffe ambience! – i had their almond caffe latte. very good. the espresso had just the right amount of kick to it, and the beverage wasn't too hot. very international crowd (it's the area and the tourists), some tourists, and some locals. the locals are mostly hip professionals or the casual set. i was there during one of the world cup 2006 games and the atmosphere was great. one of my neighborhood favorites.
Spacious, authentic New York-style Italian espresso bar and cafe. – In Short Cell phones are not welcome at this boisterous North Beach cafe--but plenty of friendly conversation occurs among loyal patrons and tourists. The activity is presided over by owner Tony Azzollini and family and their staff of "Roma girls," all trained to pour a perfect cappuccino or glass of Chianti.
