The absolute WORST coffee shop in North Beach. Totally TOURIST oriented. Insanely overpriced pastry, constant staff turnover, and if you live here, you don't go here. Go to a real North Beach Coffee shop, Cavalli, or if you want the absolute Real Deal go to Trieste. Try asking a Roma employee for change for a parking meter. An on the take, overpriced tourist trap.
Best Americano in the City – Hands down the best Americano in the city. From the beautiful, aromatic and tasty crema to the actual brew for which you can taste all the nuances of coffee flavor! I know I sound like an advertisement but what you will actually taste in your cup is actually what "over the counter" super market coffee makers purport. I never really understood what they were speaking of until I had this cup of java. I enjoy a cup whenever I can...even if I have already had too much caffeine!
Overpriced average coffee. – For the price I paid for my latte, I would have expected it to be the best latte I ever had. I ordered a small latte ($3.70), which was about 10-12 oz. and added vanilla flavoring ($0.75) for a total of $4.45. What I am looking for when I take my first sip is how strong and flavorful the espresso is. What I tasted was something along the lines of steamed vanilla milk with a hint of espresso. Now I'm not saying I'm a coffee expert, but I do know what a good latte should taste like and this was not... read more
Coffee and the Mayor – This place had a good vibe the minute I entered. In this rather political city, the patrons and the staff were talking about the frequent weekday visits by the mayor for his caffeine fix. The staff were young, spirited and up-beat. My double cappucino, served in an oversized mug, and almond croissant (why didn't I get the pastry in the case?@#!...next time) were quickly served and tasty. The cappucino was rich and flavorful. Next time, skip the croissant (it was not a unique Caffe Roma treat) and order... read more
We love this coffee. – We're not locals but love this coffee so much we buy the beans there and take them home with us. We also order online- try the Etruscan, they have it at the Bryant St location but don't seem to carry it on Columbus. Great sweets but I confess I often sneak a pastry in from Mara's across the street.
great local coffee – This is a nice family run coffee house. Great coffe's and sweets. Very good stop while cruising around North Beach during the weekend. Can sit outside and people watch for a bit while sipping a nice strong cup of flavorful coffe.
Good cofee – Great place remind me of last visit in milano. People staff is also great friendly . real Italiano. Forza Roma. I love that place.
Service counts – ... and in my opinion it doesn't measure up here. The coffee is good but the service isn't. The attitude might be free but it isn't always welcome.
my favorite authentic italian place – being a 100 % italian it took me a while to figurate out which was the place that reminds me of home. This is the one. The capuccino is like the one in Milan, Tony, the owner greets people like the italians do, he is italian of 1 st generation. I love this place . Grazie Tony
