Cafe Sol Azteca: Good Food at a Price My rating reflects what I consider high prices, not the quality of the food, which is very good. The menu is more limited than some Mexican restaurants, but I appreciate that they have several fish options. They do have a kid's menu. In summer they virtually double their serving space as they have a relatively large patio. In winter, the space is much more limited. Cafe Sol Azteca is a Newton Gem! Cafe Sol Azteca is a neighborhood gem. I think MAVisitor (a previous reviewer) was WAY off the mark; Sol Azteca food has terrific flavor and is wonderfully authentic. It's hard to find Mexican food this good in Phoenix, much less on the East Coast. The indoors is charming and cozy on cold or rainy days, and the outdoors is cheerful and lovely on nice summer days. Great atmosphere – The food and service were fine, but what I loved best was the cute courtyard for outdoor dining. My aunt moved to Newton 25 years ago and Sol Azteca is one of her favorite restaurants in the area. I went there for the first time this summer and was very pleased. Over priced and under seasoned – If you're looking for a new scene and decor, this is the place for you. But if you're looking for something that's going to give your tastebuds a run find another place to dine! The service was great, the people are friendly, and the location is cozy but the food wasn't worth the price. There just wasn't enough flavor for me.
