I've been going to Cafe Rio since you opened your first store in Provo Utah. Back then the line was out the door. I find out today that you no longer have medium sauce (which is my favorite), no vinaigrette dressing instead some weird very oily chipotle dressing. I got the taco Tuesday double tacos and you would have thought I got the kids meal. Portions were very small and the food was cold. The food and quality has gone way down at this location. Our family thought it was so good when it first opened up. The last 2 times we have Doordashed the food has been awful!! Sooo salty one time and this last time it looks like someone didn’t even bother to try. We ordered a burrito enchilada style and this is what we got ? We tried looking past what it looked like hoping it would still taste good. It didn’t. We used to love Cafe Rio. So many mistakes on our orders and the quality of the food prep has been getting worse and worse. They are getting pretty expensive and the burrito I was given tonight was completely wrong and probably the worst built burrito I’ve ever paid for. Even cheap fast food burritos looked better. A few in our family stopped eating one time because it tasted like there were chemicals in it. After reading other reviews of this location, we have a good guess as to why
Overall not great experience. We tried ordering on app 3 times on the app, so went to website finally worked on second attempt. Once ordered got a call from driver saying he received no address so had to give him directions. Then when got food, we were missing half our order, and we were really looking forward to that half. We were also missing napkins, and then when we ate the food was cold and very bland and I only ate like a few bites and was done. Then had to call customer service. Overall not a great experience at all.
As much as I love Cafe Rio, this location really dropped the ball today. The staff preparing our food were initially cleaning the food trays with cleaner and food prep gloves when we entered, but then they made our food with their cleaner-covered gloves. If your staff is grabbing cilantro with gloves that are covered in cleaner, that is a really big training issue. This is a HUGE health code issue—gloves should be changed frequently especially if operating the register or using cleaning chemicals before preparing food. My on... read more
