Great food, quick service. I dislike sitting so close to other diners but that's a NY thing. They have to pack in the customers to make those ridiculous rents! The Haloumi salad is to die for and so are the brunch foods. Reasonable prices.
My wife is a New Yorker and introduced me to this place some years ago. Whenever we're in town, this is one of the places I insist on visiting. Amazing brunch. Nice place.
Visiting new york and my friend stumbled on this gem due to its ratings. The cafe was small (as is everything in new york) and cute. Great decorations and had a rustic feel. We got a table for two and were sat right away during what seemed like peak brunch hour. Great brunch specials. I chose an egg benefit plate with home fries, toast, bacon. I have been going there for over 5 years. After every long 20 mile run late night on weekends, I would finish my run hungry and Cafe Orlin was there with my favorite dishes. Prices are reasonable and food is always fresh. The ambiance is dynamic... I love to see groups come and go - like a timelapse video - and they are from all over the world. Nice garden level restaurant in the East Village. Great atmosphere, small but airy. Recommend the Rhone French red by the glass. Hummus served creamy with thin slices of red onion. The pita could be thinner but that is personal preference. It tasted delicious. Loved the fries served with their signature ketchup. The mushroom ravioli with a pesto cream sauce was enough to share and toasty on a chilly NYC evening.
