I had the opportunity to spend time with Dr. Majed Chane,MD at California Heart & Vein and had a very positive experience. I was able to observe both outpatient and hospital-based cardiology care and learn about the management of conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, and venous disease. My rotation with Dr. Chane was one of my best U.S. clinical experiences. The rotation was very well structured and helped prepare us for residency. I had the opportunity to learn EKG interpretation, observe echocardiograms, nuclear studies, and vein ablations, and assist with patient history taking. I had a great experience during my observership with Dr. Chane. Before the rotation began, I was initially concerned because I did not have detailed information about what to expect. However, once the observership started, those concerns quickly disappeared. The experience was well organized, exceeded my expectations, and provided far more learning opportunities than I had anticipated.
