Absolute scam artists. My family and I are attempting to move back to Colorado Springs from out of state. I contacted this office SEVERAL times over the course of three consecutive days to ask information about applying for a specific property. I told them in DETAIL that my husband and I would be moving from out of state and that we are self employed. They said our income would not work because it is out of state self employment. Our company is careful to explain to prospective tenants that we do not preapprove applicants over the phone. Policies and procedures are detailed on p1 of the application. The policy clearly states, "The following information is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to rent or any type of contract whatsoever." Byrne Management is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I would not wish this company on my worst enemy. I had a rental house I hired them to manage, and it was nothing but a nightmare from the beginning. The hot water heater in the house went out, and I was not informed of the problem until a week later when the tenants were (understandably!) raging mad, then I received a rude phone call from one of their service guys early on a Sunday morning. Our maintenance reporting is available 24 hours per day. When something comes up (like no hot water) we move immediately to remedy the situation. Sometimes owners request additional bids (which was the case here) that can delay us. Our owners do make decisions on larger expenses. We do our best to encourage them to play nice and make a decision quickly, but you can lead the horse to water... To comment on charging a tenant for damages. We will charge anyone for damages that they cause so long as we have proper documentation.... read more
