Beware, if you use By Owner in Utah, you will still have to pay real estate agent fees to By Owner’s partner, ListWithFreedom. They don’t provide any support, but you are subject to seller real estate fees. I would not have select By Owner if I had known this before listing my Utah property.
Disappointing experience and a waste of time. I attempted to list my mother’s manufactured home using ByOwner. It took about an hour to fill out all the forms, upload photos, and prepare everything for the listing. I was immediately issued an MLS number, so I went ahead and printed 50 full-color flyers—at $1.30 each—based on that information. The next day, they contacted me requesting additional details. Best experience ever. I’ve sold other houses and this is my 1st time using ByOwner.com. This was the best decision ever. I saved lots and lots of money. I highly recommend using this service. The customer care team was the best ever.
Worst real estate experience ever. Listed my property with them and they failed to make accurate updates and worst of all could not be contacted by prospective buyers. No way to schedule showings or ask questions via the MLS or other listings. Complete waste of time and money and I had to pay $300 to cancel their service. Overall $500 and one month wasted during the main buying season due to this “business”. DO NOT recommend them for anyone.
