BWK served as the general contractor for this fast-track design / build project that was completed in fourteen weeks. The project involved the complete renovation of a section of the Theodore Schwamb Mill into a coworking space. The exposed beams, brick and hardwood floors preserve the nature of this historical building. The façade work and window replacement required approval of the Arlington Historical Commission. In the tight streets surrounding the Bunker Hill Monument, BWK Construction renovated a late 1800’s three family house. BWK worked hand in hand with the architect throughout the whole project from the design phase all the way through construction. BWK completes new 4,500 SF group home for North Suffolk Mental Health, located at 225 Pleasant Street, Winthrop, MA. This eight unit home was designed and built to house eight mentally-challenged adults. The design considered wheelchair and bedridden people by having 4’-2” wide custom doors, ceiling supports system for wheelchair-to-bed access and several other features for handicap accessibility.
