It was my first time needing a compound prescription. Burt's pharmacy was the closest. They were available by phone when I called and when I went to pick up my prescription, their store reminded me of a pharmacy from the 70's. It was a simple store with friendly people.
I ordered Betahistine—a prescription medication not approved by the FDA—for Meniere's disease through this pharmacy. When I requested a consultation about potential side effects, I was surprised to receive no information whatsoever. They didn’t even offer a basic summary or printout from online sources regarding the drug’s side effects.
Nice enough staff and I wanted to support my local pharmacy instead of one of the mega chains. But it’s extremely dated in the inside and they refused to fill my prescriptions I’ve been on for 2 decades because my doctor is in Los Angeles, since that’s where I work. This is very annoying and seems odd considering many people in the area commute to LA for work as well. They have also filled my wife’s prescription despite her doctor being located much farther away. And I never had this problem before. So something isn’t right.... read more
Bert's pharmacy is truly a community-minded pharmacy. I highly recommend Burt's pharmacy.
Their customer service has gone down hill, can’t even fill a compounded perception in 4 business days. When prior to some recent change (a new pharmacist maybe) they had filled, for over a year my dogs medication who needs to take the medicine 2 times a day or could have a seizure and pass away as a result, which they knew or should have known and should have been on file.
