Slimy chicken, a guacamole sauce instead of guacamole. Left me spending a long time on the toilet.
Last visit I ordered carne asada fries and today I ordered the hash brown burrito with a side of the avocado salsa and omg it is to die for! I’ve never tasted a burrito so good! I grew up in southern San Diego so it’s been hard finding a good taco shop up north and honestly if you haven’t tried it you are missing out! This place is definitely getting slept on!
Unfortunately, my GF had her order messed up and got sick the first time she ate here, couple that with the rude customer service experience at the drive-thru and we'll never be back. Alvaro's was definitely above average, and with Don Rios and Senor Taquero so close in either direction down Poway Rd providing exceptional Mexican food, and great customer service at average prices, there is absolutely no reason to go to this location of Burros & Fries. The food is good but the customer service is mediocre, you guys have one girl that works there I come to the drive through and she can barely take an order, I ordered a burro and just a drink with some lime on the side and couldn’t even remember the drink or lime so I had to repeat it one at a time over and over. Just don’t come here. Ever since they became ‘Burro and Fries’ this place has lost all quality. I really tried to give it a chance but it just took me 1/3 of my breakfast burrito to finally get some egg in my mouth. These ‘burros’ are pathetic. R.I.P. Alvaro’s, you will be missed
