This is a 10 plus shop I have been going to Burnside auto even before it belonged to the current owners and they do the best job on any type of car.very fair prices and they always test it out George is the best with customers very fair and they always back up what they do.And on expensive stuff George well help you find a good used part, WE are lucky to have a independent owner and they never pull any punches I know i can trust them,Never question them when the machanic or george tells me i need this and your car is safe in... read more

Excellent service, would do business with them again. – Had a solid experience taking my VW in last week. Fair pricing, fast service, straightforward communication -- everything I want in a repair shop. Like any good local business, Burnside relies on establishing and maintaining relationships with its customers. Next time I need something done on the car, I will very likely go back to Burnside.

Timely, affordable, and honest! – I've been bringing my car to Burnside for a few years now. First time, dealership told me that based on the symptoms I was describing I would need a new clutch to the tune of $1800. My dad called his Cadillac dealership and asked who has their fleet account and they recommended Burnside. Turns out all I needed was the master and slave cylinders replaced and it came to about $200. Recently had the battery replaced and the rear differential fluid. The best in Portland – I've been going there since I moved to Portland almost 20 years ago. My Subaru was in there many times until I got fed up and bought a VW. They told me they don't really work on VW's and told me a good shop that did. When I sold the VW and got a Mazda I was back at Burnside auto. Never had any issues with them. George is the nicest guy. Always good prices. I now go there maybe once a year and when I call him he always remembers me by name.

Competent and Considerate – I'm new to Portland, so I did a bit of research before taking my car to a repair shop. "Burnside" came up a winner, but of course, you always feel like you're taking a big risk when it comes to auto repair. Fortunately, my research paid off. Very Very Honest shop – I was quoted $ 600 to do front and rear brake job on my 2000 Honda from another shop when they rotated my tires and I was advised that I have no brakes left . I called around and Burnside automotive repair quoted me the best price . I dropped my car in the morning and took the bus to work and I requested to have my brakes serviced and I was expecting to pay $400 . Good, honest mechanics – We moved to Portland three years ago and it took a while to find a mechanic that we felt good about. We have to look no further. These guys love what they do--and are good at it. They take time to explain exactly what they're doing and why and they do a great job. We had our vw vanagon into two other mechanics repeatedly before taking it to them--they diagnosed the problem immediately--and fixed it perfectly. I highly recommend them.
