Sandy Burney is completely incompetent, lazy, dismissive, unprofessional and rude. I was so embarrassed in court because the judge admonished her for not filing a motion to compel my ex to provide his financials which I had repeatedly emailed her to do beforehand, and for letting the proceedings drag out for 4 years!!! Regrettably, I paid Sandy Burney a $200 dollar consultation fee. I just wanted to pay the full retainer amount to hire her for a custody matter instead of paying a lawyer’s consultation fee. A attorney's consultation fee is a rip-off, in my opinion. It just means free money for them, especially if the attorney decide not to represent you at the end of the consultation. Sandy has represented me for the past three years in probably the worst contested custody case imaginable. Throughout the entire process, Sandy was very supportive and responsive. She was always well prepared for court, very knowledgeable, and gave very good advice. In court, Sandy performed extremely well; her cross-examination is absolutely brutal.
