I’ve brought in a suitcase full of clothes to sell to them. They only took 2 shirts and gave me only an option of either $7 in cash or $12 in store credit. When the girl at the selling counter looked at some sunglasses I was trying to sell, she said “They’re in great condition, but they’re not in style” and rejected them. I wasn’t surprised as I know that the staff are finicky hipsters. Buffalo Exchange isn’t all that and a bag of chips in my opinion.
In my experience it has generally not been worth the fuel/bus fare/time to offload clothing. I've brought clothes within the description of what they claim to be "currently buying", only to have them pick out a shirt, or two. Do you ever wonder if when they say they'll "donate to charity" whatever they do not buy from you, that actually at end of day they rack up those items and list for sale?! Hah. Maybe? So check this out...took in today around noonish perfectly clean new clothing I decided to take in (some expensive clothing I have not even worn) and was told every excuse in the book why they could not buy my clothing. Although the gentleman in front of me brought in Nasty, stained greasy swimwear ...which THEY BOUGHT ALL OF! Also why are they buying swimwear in the fall? Their employees will even insult you. My daughter took in a bag of clothes, all in excellent condition, 50% which were styles currently selling or would be good and fashionable for fall, and the buyer gave REALLY flakey excuses for not buying any of them.
