I called Budget Rent A Car for a one way car rental after our airline flight was cancelled. The representative told me they don't offer one way rentals BUT if I call back in later or the next day I could just change my drop location and it will be fine. I specifically asked what the drop fee would be and how much it would cost. I was told it would be about a $50 dollar upcharge on top of the rental fee if I drove from Chicago to Philly. AWFUL RENTAL EXPERIENCE. My husband and I were quoted $118 for our rental car through Budget for a 2 day rental. When we went to pickup the car and check out at the desk when we landed the agent added a bunch mark ups to our reservation and ended up charging us close to $300. Then it only gets worse… we decided to extend our rental for 6 hours and drop off our vehicle at a different Budget location. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!! While traveling, I left my brand new Bose headphones charging on the center console, and in a rush to catch my flight, I forgot to take them. I realized I didn’t have them within 15 minutes of dropping off the car, but I couldn’t go back without missing my flight. An employee was present at drop-off and the items were left in plain view. Got a Mitsubishi, it probably has some undercarriage damage to suspension, it swerves left on every single bump on the road and looses stability on dry asphalt at 45mph. It then snowed. It wouldn't even drive straight so we had to stop. The delay for 2 days is supposed to be 160 80 usd per day as on the contract. They quoted us more than 700 usd for delay of dropping of car late stating high demand of vehicles.
