UPDATE: The other mechanic we went to confirmed it did not need front brakes or ball joints - which they said we needed. His bill went from over 2600 to less than $1000! Extremely disappointed in this shop. I believe whole heartedly that they are trying to take advantage of my 16 year old son. They quoted him almost 2700 of work to pass inspection - including brakes all around even though the front brakes were replaced less than a year and 1000 miles ago. They quoted him almost 2700 of work to pass inspection - including brakes all around even though the front brakes were replaced less than a year and 1000 miles ago. We are taking it to a reputable mechanic to get a second opinion and I will update on the rest of the work they said needed to be done. Beware - do not go here
I have had two negative experiences with browns. The first time was when I had them install new tires on my truck. They couldn’t balance them properly and all of a sudden my tire pressure sensor would no longer work. I took it back, they claimed to fix it. Well, they didn’t. They also messed my alignment up. It may be aligned but my steering wheel is crooked. I took it to another garage who said they used old weights and it’s was off quite a bit. They fixed it along with the two other issues. Our car broke down on our way to Buffalo from Ann Arbor MI. We called AAA. The driver recommended Browns service. He dropped us off at a hotel at 1:30 AM!!! And took the car to Browns. We called when they opened to let them know about the car that was sitting in the lot. They told us they were super busy for the next couple weeks!!!! After hearing about our situation they took at look at it and was able to get us back on the road super quick!!!!
