Just to chip in my two cents worth, I had a very disappointing experience with Brownlee... Which is a shame since I did business with them at their original location 40 years ago. Took a ring in to have it resized, was quoted $150, got a call 10 days later saying they revised the estimate to $220. I expected them to stand by their original estimate, but more galling was their attitude. They were downright rude. It could happen to you - but it sure won't happen to me again.
Brownlee Jewelers is without a doubt the worst experience I have had with any sort of company in my entire life. With over 2 months to spare, I brought them a diamond and agreed on a setting they rendered for me. Over the 2 months, they constantly would leave me in the dark, "systems would go down", and mess up my setting not once but twice. What was once plenty of time to spare led me to driving the day before my proposal (skipping work) to pick up my "correct" setting to find out that the setting was indeed wrong again. At... read more
