We were at the Brophy Bros today, about an hr. ago and sat down at the bar area. I ordered clam chowder soup based on the recommendations of staff at the Inn where we are staying. The portion was sizable and couldn't wait to eat the soup. Unfortunately it was the worst clam chowder soup I've ever had! It was too thick, salty and the clams were sandy, which I could feel with every bite. I was so hungry but I could only eat a quarter of the soup and I HAD to stop. Live in Santa Barbara for 10 years. This remains my very favorite restaurant in the world. I'm here from the east coast for Christmas and it wasn't until I had lunch at Brophy's that I felt like I was home in Santa Barbara.
RecommendedChopping Lunch is great!! Get there by 11:15 on weekends or you'll have to wait. Favorite spot.

The food was excellent, the service was amazing, and the view is breathing. I had a cup of clam chowder that was one of the best if not the best I've ever had. Paired the cup of soup with their delicious fish and chips that were cooked perfectly. My water cup was never close to being empty and and soda refills were timed perfectly. Simply put, it was amazing.
