The people at this facility do not care about your loved ones. They failed to administer my grandmother's medication on time (or sometimes at all), and their complete lack of attention or concern caused her to miss meals. That is unacceptable and myself and my family are heartbroken that trained professionals could be so negligent and nonchalant about basic care. Wouldn't wish the care of this facility on anyone. They make mistakes and neglect their patients, but when you express concern that your loved one isn't getting the care they deserve - or even just basic care - you are treated as though you are being dramatic. My grandmother is in the hospital with pneumonia after they told us several times she didn't - but then told the EMT before they left in the ambulance to transport her to the hospital that she infact did have pnemonia to cover her own rear end. As a clinical instructor for nursing...I have been in and out of this community. I have never met so many truly dedicated employees that are so dedicated to their clients. Stella and Dawna and Lindsey and many others I would trust them with my family anytime. P.S. They were really gentle and great with my students too!
Quite possible that this was the worst experience we could have imagined. My mother was there for rehab after an illness. She has Lewy Body Dementia and is difficult at night because of the characteristics of the disease. Brookdale refused to accommodate those difficulties, instead requiring our family to have a family member bedside 24/7 for 3 weeks, until insurance ran out and we were able to move her. Never again will we recommend them, or use their services.
