Im on the lets do nothing urology plan. That's where you're told to wait and see if your 5mm stone fixes itself. They give you 2 days worth of pain meds and an appointment in 5 weeks. You'll get used to twisting in agony and vomiting daily. Remember drink lots of water so there's something to throw up
There is a protocol where they wait to see weeks and weeks if your completely blocked kidney will pass a stuck kidney stone. On the good side as your kidney is destroyed the pain will decrease
I would give this office 0 stars if I could. They doctors lack any empathy. I had stents put in and the doctor had me pull my own stent out the next morning with no paid medication. Holy hell. The pain was unbearable. Next to child labor. Then I had awful bladder spams. I called the office repeatedly and they refused to do anything for me. I laid face down crying pain and couldn’t speak. Had 2 different appointments get scheduled, both of which were randomly canceled without any reason. I was left a my chart message to call back and reschedule but NOBODY answers the phone. Finally gave up and drove to somewhere 30 minutes away.
As a 15-YEAR stage 3 kidney patient, I have never in my LIFE run into a department so staunchly unwilling to prescribe necessary pain medication or otherwise put me in a position to be able to proactively manage my condition. I live in constant fear of going to the ER (quite literally their sole strategy whatsoever for pain management) every time I have a kidney stone or blockage, and they're more than willing to literally gaslight me and say (with no evidence whatsoever) that I passed something that I KNOW I didn't pass, th... read more
