The People who like it-won't/don't accept negative reviews – Very Scary. A person writes a negative review on here, and someone has to remark about it like it shouldn't have happened. It happened to us too. Our party tried to park on the back lot for dinner, but they had a chain across it-and wouldn't permit us to park there-even though we had called and said we were coming. They told us the girl that we spoke to on the phone ( who agreed to try to help us get a table when we got there ) "didn't work there anymore"...well sh... read more
Best bartender in the city – Ive been a fan of BOB forever. But, if Dan is not behind the bar, find another bar! The food is wonderful. I hate reading the one bad review posted.I have never seen them charge a parking fee (sure you at the right park lot? )- I have felt, from my observations, that during dinner time, they could benefit with a hospitality person...going to the tables, making sure everyone happy... sharon
HORRIBLE FIRST IMPRESSION!!! – This was our first visit to this restaurant. We called ahead to see what the parking situation was and they told us the restaurant has a private parking area for patrons and street parking if that was full. When we got there, there was a $10 charge to park in their lot (and no available street parking due to a ball game). I personally was very excited to get a Muffuletta which is listed on their website on their menu. I'm not big on Cajun food, so this really was the only thing I wanted to get ... read more
great Cajun theme – The crawfish bisque was probably the most authentic I've had and though I prefer catfish with a cornmeal (not flour) it was still very good. overall, I think it was very good food. the real test of a cajun restuarant is the gumbo and etoufee, but I will be back to try that. repeat customer! outside seating wasnt that comfortable, but thats part of the charm of eating bayou food. sometimes the smell of the city will get to you, but nothing that can not be overlooked.
BOB is great – Was driving downtown and ran across this great bar..i sat at the outside bar located on their patio, they also have a nice inside bar. The bartender sheila was great as was the ice cold beer and the grilled chicken grinder (i will try the cajun/creole next time i visit), the live music at 5.45pm on a thursday was also a plus. I will be going back most likely sometime next week after work. Watch out for the cards game as i hear it can get very crowded before and after.
ALLWAY FUN AFTER A GAME – Usually packed after an downtown event, wide range of ages, lots of fun
Fun bar and very good cajun restaurant. – Broadway Oyster Bar (BOB) is a wonderful place to have a good time. The best part of the place is the outside patio. With a variety of cajun and blues bands the place is always hopping. Above average cajun food should be checked out early in the evening before the bar business get rolling.
open mic – I have been able to sit in with the Soulard Blues Band on Monday nights and have also gained a lot of knowledge, respect and friends of the music they offer. Monday nights in the patio are outstanding. Simply sitting underneath the stars and hearing the soothing sands of local talents who come together to display, combine and improve their craft is the most fun way to spend a night just after witnessing another Cardinal victory.
Catch local blues music while feasting on Cajun and Creole cuisine at this popular patio spot. – In Short Enthusiastic Cardinals fans drop by this funky, character-filled hangout just south of Busch Stadium for Cajun cooking before or after Cards games. Live local and national blues bands are featured on the patio seven nights a week, rain or shine; when it's cold, they retreat indoors to a space the size of a shoebox.
