We’re not from the area, but we happened upon Briquettes Smokehouse on the hunt for an easy dinner. We stopped in Ashtabula and immediately smelled the ribs smoking. Upon learning that they had a very gluten-free friendly menu we decided to give it a try. The food was so yummy and the staff was extremely attentive and helpful. We went there for the first time last night for dinner. The atmosphere was good. The food was amazing, staff was friendly and courteous. BUT We had to wait along time to be served, Kyle's drink was so strong he didn't want to drink it. We asked them to replace it or give him something different and they refused. They said they couldn't give away "free" alcohol or drinks. Well it's not like he would drink both so its just a replacement for something he couldn't drink so it's not giving us anything. Great food at a good price. Great service. All meats we tried were hot, moist and perfectly smoked, coleslaw is a Carolina style, corn bread has jalapeños. We will be back.
