My experience with Dr. Phipps and Animas Orthopedic has been a nightmare. From the very start when he told me I needed a hip replacement on a joint that had never hurt me, to the the three years of chronic and debilitating pain the surgery has caused, it has easily been the worst medical experience of my life. Had a new left knee put in two years ago and just had the right one put in two weeks ago. Dr Phipps is a class act, very thorough & professional and the best part this applies to the rest of his staff from the time you enter the first time until you leave whether it’s just an office visit or after surgery. To say I’m pleased is an understatement. Three days after surgery I ran a couple of errands with my daughter in downtown Durango without the aid of a walker or cane! I had a bilateral knee replacement performed by Dr. Phipps 8 weeks ago. This was a a bit daunting for me and I was nervous about the procedure, but Dr. Phipps was reassuring and made me feel comfortable going into the surgery. He is a top notch surgeon and did a fantastic job with both of my knees. Casey Gardner, who is the PA, was instrumental in supporting my desire to do both at the same time and backed me completely to ensure I got what I wanted.
