I was stunned by how rudely I was treated. When travelling to the north country, my 12 year old springer spaniel was showing signs of severe distress. It was after hours and we were 4 hours from our home veterinarian. The person I spoke with was rude, abrupt and condescending. After he hung up on me, it reinforced my decision to take my dog to an emergency center in Ottawa where I could at least feel confident that she would be well taken care. The staff here is friendly and welcoming. My pet and I always are made to feel at home. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here. It was easy to get the appointment time that worked for my schedule. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed.
They fully explained my pet's condition. When I left I knew exactly what my pet has and what treatments are available. There is no fear of your pet going hungry or thirsty here because food and water are always made available for them. They have bowls all over the office just in case your pet decides it needs a quick nibble of food or sip of water.
