Dr.Briceno performed an elaborate abdominal surgery on me at SMH. His expertise and attention to detail saved me from a cancer diagnosis . He visited daily in the hospital as well as his team of PAs. His care was exceptional and I’m fortunate to have him caring for me! Thank you Dr. Briceno and staff!

Be very careful when selecting your surgeon. The aftermath of a should be easy Gall Bladder removal was horrific, terrifying and long lasting. The facts: Gall Bladder removal at Sarasota Memorial 3/30/2023.. Two days later admitted to Emergency Room SMH.for unrelenting horrific pain in abdomen. One nite stay then to home needing a nurse friend to take care of me as I couldn't get out of bed FOR DAYS. Diagnosis: bile leaking from bile duct from severed arm of Gall Bladder. The office staff, although friendly, did not give me complete pre op instructions until the late afternoon before the procedure... they seemed over worked, short staffed and unable to respond to numerous phone calls asking for instructions. Day of surgery the doctor did NOT talk to me before or after the procedure. very disappointed that my questions were not addressed before surgery. Communication is a vital part of good medical care and it was sorely missing with this office and doctor.

I first met Dr. Briceno when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he put my chemo port in. I have had several appointments with him since then and he has always been genuine, friendly and took the time to listen to me and explain everything. I have been dealing with a hernia since before my diagnosis but was advised to let it be by another doctor. It was to the point where my life was being run by my hernia and not my cancer. Dr. Briceno repaired my hernia and because of him I am able now to move around freely and function without pain. I had good fortune of meeting him several years ago when he saved my wife’s life with cancer surgery on both her kidney and colon! Excellent!! He is genuine, personable, took time to explain and answer questions. First appointment I have left feeling good! There should be more like him, he is a one and only.
Being from out of state I vas very fortunate to have Dr . Briceno, his physicians asst. and all the wonder employees who work in his office. The operation went great as was the follow up after the surgery.
