Dr Brian McDermott, MD did an amazing job on my right knee surgery! His surgical skills and his therapy team ensured the results I needed. I soon will be getting my left knee done with confidence.
Apparently he was having a bad day, or he missed the class on bedside manners. I found him to be arrogant, condescending, and blunt. He is knowledgeable and proficient, but he does not make the patient feel welcome.
I've been to 2 other MW Knee Dr's in a progression to today. Stage 4 OA R knee, Stage 3-4 L knee OA is more painful & L knee MRI: anterior root horn meniscus tear, internal meniscus tear & cyst. Dr X said I need to use a cane, referred me to Dr. R in arthro, who agreed arthro/ meniscus surgery won't fix everything & I have no cartllidge under my knee cap & to fix it all, the only option is TKR candiate- referred to Dr. McDermott.
