I had my. c5-c7 fused about 6 or 7 years ago. My neck still hurts and Im back at another doc for the same pinched nerve issue. BUT. The biggest problem is he paralyzed one of my vocal folds. I kept going there up to about nine months and them telling me I would eventually get my voice back. I was fortunate enough to have Dr Brian Miller for my surgeon several years ago. This doctor saved me from constant agony and his extra efforts looking around in my neck discovered a piece of ruptured disk caught between a muscle and my nerves. I spent about a year in agony prior and his diligence saved me. I had to do PT first but when they would work on my neck it would hurt so bad I would need to take anti nausea medication. DO NOT Let this man do any spinal surgeries on you! He caused a MAJOR spinal fluid leak from TEARING open my dura when CLEARLY instructed to stick to the procedure, which he didn’t! He got cocky overzealous and started tugging on scar tissue, in his words, “to clean it up” causing major spinal fluid leakages and emergency surgery which he had me on my stomach too long, also causing permanent vision problems when I had perfect 20/20!
