I had a total hip replacement in November and my surgeon Dr. Burnikel is amazing. He is so friendly, easy to talk to and patiently answers questions. Many thanks to Dr. Burnikel and his office staff as well as the surgical and medical team.
Dr Burnikel is an exceptional Orthpedic Surgeon! From the time I first saw him two plus years ago I felt he and his staff were patient centered and there to help me. I received steroid shots for several years until they were no longer effective. Dr Burnikel never rushed me into surgery as other orthopedic surgeons had—“when you’re ready for surgery, come back to see me.”(this was my second knee replacement). Had a partial knee replacement and am so pleased with the result. I would highly recommend Dr Burnikel.
Not accepting my insurance
Dr Burnikel is an exceptional Orthpedic Surgeon! He has an impressive academic and experiential background, in his field. He replaced my hip about two years ago and recently replaced my right knee. Thus far, I have nothing but excellent results. Of note, he is easy to converse with and is very kind and patient. I never feel rushed or ignored. A great medical resource in the update region of South Carolina!!
Awful.He was unprofessional,condescending, and completely uninterested in helping me with my medical condition.The entire Steadman Hawkins practice is this way.They don’t care about patients, only about the patient volume to generate revenue.
I went to Dr. Burnikel for a second opinion regarding knee replacement. He listened to me and took more time with me than my original (lst opinion) doctor. Better explanation and discussion of what we can do to correct my knee. Ended my relationship with previous doctor. When finished with physical therapy at ATI will then turn to Dr. Burnikel as my doctor.
Dr. Burnikel replaced Terry Kamps hips first on April 18, 2016 and the second July 18, 2016. Every step of this serious surgery was handled in the most professional manner possible. The patient feels very confident after just the initial meeting! Outstanding skill level shown by Dr. Burnikel all the way through both surgery experiences.
