I used Dr. Butzen for a Dupuytrens hand surgery and got great results with minimal scarring because of the technique he uses. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Butzen did surgery on my shoulder to repair two small tears. The 1 hr. surgery took 2-1/2 hours. I could never get an explanation of Why. About 3 months after surgery, with no accident or event, I found I could not raise my arm even to waist level. The doctor refused a request for an MRI. I continued PT for another 1-1/2 months with little success. Another doctor, with an in-office exam, quickly determined that the rotator cuff had re-torn and the tendon had retracted several inches. My visit from the beginning was excellent, despite my issues with my shoulder. From day one, I knew I was going to be in good hands. Dr. Butzen was very helpful in helping me understand what was going on in my shoulder. He's got an excellent staff that made me feel comfortable from the beginning. He did everything that could be done to my shoulder. He repaired a tear in my rotator cuff, repaired a tear in my labrum, repaired tendons, removed 2 bone spurs and relocated my bicep muscle. I had pain after surgery for only about 24 hours and could reach the top of my head on the 3rd day. At 5 months, I am almost completely recovered, about half the time it took my other shoulder with a doctor in a different city. He is a good guy and a great doctor!
Dr Butzen improved the quality of my life by diagnosing and treating my carpal tunnel syndrome. He is caring and professional and highly skilled.

Love, love, love Dr. B. Had a rotten wrist fracture and if I didn't have a scar, you wouldn't notice. In addition, all the staff including surgical were top drawer.
