Just had my breast reduction with Dr.Meyer and she was great. I wasn’t nervous going in bc I knew she was no stranger to the game. I felt extremely comfortable with her. I was nervous about coming home with a drain and she said she usually never sends anyone home with a drain, she looked again and said I don’t think you’ll need one” I didn’t go home with a drain and my healing went really well. Bandages came off today and I’m in no pain. A little uncomfortable still, but that’s a given. 10/10 recommend Dr. Meyer.
That wasn’t just medical dismissal — it was dehumanizing. The way she treated me wasn’t just unprofessional; it was personal. When a person in power looks you in the face, denies your pain, invalidates your lived experience, and makes you feel small in a vulnerable moment — that’s not just bias, it’s violence. She did an amazing job, and kept following up with me when I had other health issues around the area she worked. If the doctor reads this. Thanks again for all the help during my major cancer surgery and flap!
She made me feel comfortable and explained things to me very well. Im very excited she is my surgeon and can't wait for my procedure to be done. 10/10 would recommend.
