KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIAGNOSTIC AND SCREENING for your mammogram. Your insurance may only pay for SCREENING, as that is what most insurance companies consider part of their “wellness” visits. Breast Care Specialist only perform diagnostic treatment. This could cost you hundreds of dollars out of pocket. They don’t tell you this before booking an appointment.
I would not recommend. Everything was not okay with my mastectomy. I’m battling stage 3c triple negative and my surgeon, how do I put it nicely? Left cancer and did not remove pectoral nodes which had cancer in them prior to chemo and surgery. Did not perform a level three dissection which is recommended for my stage according to the NCCN guidelines and my type of cancer. I have been trying for over two weeks to get a hold of this company to schedule an appointment. I wait over eight minutes on hold and leave messages. If not for recommendations from a couple of friends, I would give up by now.
