plan ahead and be happy!! – wow. home made food brought to the tables by professional waiters. a BIT of a wait (wink) but, since you can order drinks and sack out on what has to be the comfiest couches in LA while you wait, it's worth it. my advice is to come at off hours, or weekdays, no problem and same great food!!
The $11 Omelets Don't Even Come With Toast – This place is ridiculous. Enough people have talked about the wait for a table, so let's get right to what happens when you actually sit down. It took 10 minutes for a waiter to approach our table, and when he did, he couldn't have seemed less interested in waiting on us. The prices are outrageous, any way you look at it. A bowl of fresh berries was $7.95. With tax and tip, that is TEN DOLLARS for a bowl of berries. Are you kidding me? And worse, the omelets, which average about $... read more
Great breakfast – I really love this place, but its super crowded on the weekends. I really like going during the weekdays. The staff is really nice and you get an excellent breakfast for a great price.
Perfect mid-week breakfast joint – I have been eating at Bread and Porridge for over 4 years now. This place has perfect breakfast food and a good wait staff. The wait on the weekend is worth it but if you can come during the week I would suggest that.
Delicious food, spotty service – I'm willing to cut the service (and the attitude) a little slack, because we went on Father's Day. Still, we waited for quite a while to order even after we were seated. However, the food was fantastic. The pecan pancakes were perfect, and the sausages were excellent. (We each ordered a different kind to share; chicken-apple was my personal favorite, but the maple and the cilantro were also good.) They take reservations for breakfast and dinner, so I'd go back--but I'd call ahead first.
Definitely a great place to go for Sunday brunch. Always pretty crowded, but the wait isn't too bad. Omelettes are fluffy - great ingredients. Service is generally fast and friendly. I believe they're expanding the restaurant which is always a good sign
great brunch place – the pancakes and omelettes are great. i love how fresh the ingredients are. the wait wasn't bad at all on a saturday afternoon. plus the waiting area next door is relaxing with comfy couches. service was great too.
Call ahead to put your name down! – This is a great breakfast restaurant. Food is just like home cooking and everything tastes delicious. However, the wait to be seated is verging on ridiculous. On a weekend, expect to wait about 30mins to an hour. The owner, who is the host as well, is sort of rude and seems to pick and chose who he wants to seat and when...but, the food makes it all worth it.
Great food and atmosphere – One of my favorite breakfast places! Great food, prompt service. Love the OJ and french toast. One of the ways you can tell the management is good (owner Mark is really nice!) is that you see the same staff there everytime you go. Weekdays aren't too crowded...expect to wait a while on weekends if you arrive past 9am...but you can make reservations.
