This review is in regards to my experience with Bratschi Plumbing of Winnetka and inspection of a RPZ valve (required for sprinkler systems). After Bratschi inspected our RPZ valve, it was determined that it was not working properly and an estimate of $512 was given for the repair and inspection. As this seemed high, I researched repair kits for the make/model RPZ valve we had and found them online for $36. We are a 4th generation family owned and operated business that employs professionally trained, licensed and certified plumbers. We fully admit that we cannot compete on price if the customer's option is to buy an RPZ valve online and do the work themself as Dr. ****** states he did. Despite replacing the valve, an RPZ/backflow test is still required by the state and the village code. RPZ testers require extensive training and must be certified by the State of Illinois. I had a leaky faucet, and Bratschi charge to inspect it was $198, which they did not inform me at the time of my call. They later reduced their care to $148.00. They are 1 mile 3 minute drive from my house. I got the same service from a second plumber for $20. Mr. **** reply was "we don't base our service on the price of others." Bratschi charge for repair was $1640.00. Second plumber $849.00. I suggest this company give visit costs at the time they are called for service.

It appears that the scheduling experience wasn’t as intuitive as the customer expected, and although a repair service call was scheduled verses an estimate request, we attempted to make amends after an original complaint was made directly to us. The repair service provided included a diagnosis of the problem, plumbing part identification, and troubleshooting to resolve the issue. Routing of pipes We had some clogged drains that needed routing. The two plumbers were skilled and professional. They arrived on time and were quick to complete the job. We now have drains that work!
