My new house came with a Brasscraft toilet valve. Looks great, BUT, the shinny shutoff handle is made of plastic. Broke the first time I shut the water off. Junk! When I called and emailed the company to get a replacement, They told me to go to Home Depot. The depot doesn't carry replacement handles. Only complete valves at 10 bucks a shot. I called and emailed again asking for the replacement part, and was totally ignored. Really? A ten cent part couldn't be mailed to keep a customer happy? Stupid! I bought a Brasscraft product (“BrassCraft Repair Kit for Multi-Turn Stops”, R15S-11) and was surprised to see that the product comes with a handle and screw but doesn’t have a threaded stem to accept the screw so the handle can be attached. A self-tapping screw is included in the package. It’s extremely difficult to hand tap a metal screw into a metal stem, and this makes the repair process frustrating and much more difficult. Either product design or quality control is deficient for this product.
