I had a positive experience at the Brampton Emergency Hospital. The doctors, nurses, and support staff were professional, compassionate, and worked efficiently to provide excellent care. Even though the emergency department was busy, the staff remained patient, respectful, and kept me informed throughout my visit. I came to the emergency department with my wife at approximately 4:30 a.m. because she was in severe pain from a confirmed kidney stone. The ER was not busy when we arrived, yet the security guard refused to let me accompany her inside, stating that the waiting area was closed to visitors because it was “busy.” What made the experience worse was the attitude of the security guard. Conveyor belt Hallway treatment . Extremely shameful that this is what our medical care has become. Tonight was my third visit to an emergency department in the past 10 years, and unfortunately my experience has been the same every time: extremely long wait times with very little information provided to patients and families. Today, I brought my 3.5-year-old son to the emergency department. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. It is now 2:30 a.m., and we are still waiting to see a doctor.
