Junior is as honest a mechanic as I've met. He took time to investigate and diagnose the issue with my car while keeping me up to date with cost estimates throughout the process. I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again or recommend Box & Gear to friends.
The five stars is for the transmission I rebuilt. The transmission Box and Gear rebuilt only lasted 38k miles. Inspection revealed the converter was reused from a prior build which explained why so much debri was in the pan at a 5k service they did. No wonder they did the free service. Get me past the warranty period. Just about anything will last for the warranty period. Quick and dirty like the rest. You could have better luck with a junk yard transmission or Aamco

Hello car people, let me tell you about the history of this family's shop. I have known this Box and Gears shop since 1992. I worked at Ray's auto shop in Moorpark and we brought everything here to Jessy. He always was the go to for the shop. I recently took my 86 toyota truck in for a complete 4x4 transfer case rebuilt, and the rear differential and it's a beauty...Jr the son of owner is truly carrying the flag for the shop to keep doing its best. Thank you JR... You are the man chingon...
