Such a good time at the Boston Comic Con! The new venue is terrific and I really loved it.
What an amazing experience this was my first major comicon truly awesome I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't gone to a comicon..
The art there was amazing. I loved seeing all the new comics being released. The staff was really nice. For my first comic con I'm very happy with my experience!
I've been to the last four Cons in Boston. New owners really need to work on it. Hours were weird and didn't didn't benefit anyone attending. Set up made it difficult to navigate. No security anywhere on the floor. Signs were basically non existent. Announcements couldn't be heard. Convention center staff were very helpful when located. At closing time the "rent a cops" security appeared out of no where and were rude and basically all A** holes. They walked around yelling the center is closed and you need to get out now.
Nice venue. Clean. Staff was professional. Parking was not that bad either. WiFi was spotty at some sections but no horrible.
So went for Boston Comic Con, instead I got FaneExpo Boston! That's not a positive. While being in a larger space was nice, the aisles were poorly laid out. Artist Alley went from taking up nearly 40% of the floor space in previous years, to this year being a ghetto in a cramped corner. The celebrity area was a lot of empty, poorly utilized space. Food options were non existent. Seriously, this was supposed to be a Comic Con, but comics seem to have been an afterthought.
The venue was great but there needs to be better communication with ComicCon to ensure that locations are marked better. The food options were okay, but as food was not allowed downstairs, seating and food availability needed to be increased during peak times. The vendor aisles were cramped at times but it was expected considering the number of people. All things considered, we definitely hope to be there again next year!
