I go here about once a month & although service can be slow, the servers are always nice. Tonight I tried the clam chowder & my $4.50 cup was like water! I told the waitress it was awful & she just took it away without a word & I was still charged. Not sure I’ll be going back. Fine, charge me, but at least offer to tell the kitchen it was bad.

Great atmosphere, great history, really good food, pea soup, Tuna sammach, roasted turkey sammach, the place smelled like Herbert Hoover !

We sat out back for a late lunch. The covering of trees was nice and I liked the lights and lanterns hanging all around. The furniture was sturdy and comfortable. The history book contained some fascinating facts about the place but needed a new cover. It had been handled by many katsupy hands, apparently. Our server was very scattered and then disappeared suddenly. The man who took over for her was excellent. I ordered a salad and husband ordered the hemp burger with gluten free bun.
