January 2019 I had thoracic laminectomy discectomy spinal fusion. He was honest and said the pain would never get better but it would keep me walking and I actually needed lower L section spinal fusion done also but I picked the thoracic first because it is the worst and Im getting to the point of coming back and doing the L section because it’s just that bad and I still have pain on the upper chest wall everyday but at least I can still walk. Thanks Dr.Chopke and you will be hearing from me soon.
Dr Chopko is more than just a neurosurgeon......he is a man of his word with integrity, compassion and love for his job and his patients. He has helped my daughter more than I can count when other neurosurgeons dropped her because she is too complicated. His bedside manner is top notch. Simply THE BEST.
Words alone do not describe the level of care I have received from Dr. Chopko and his entire staff. I had been to 17 medical specialist in my local area in southwest Ohio as well as Ohio State and University of Pittsburgh. For 1-1/2 years I endure horrible pain and had to quit a job I loved and go on disability . A friend recommended I see Dr Chopko. It would be a 2-1/2 hour ride that I was willing to do. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to schedule an appt that was only about a month out. Unfortunately, I did get cancelled a couple days before my appt and saw the PA. I was able to see Dr Chopko 2 weeks later to discuss my surgery options. He was very thorough and personable. The nurse was very friendly that roomed me. I didn't give five stars due to the last minute cancellation and having to wait to get to see him weeks later for surgery options.
