I've ( the Bob Smith is an alias) been a member of the Body Shop by default for a couple of years. Mainly because I like the options of the different locations and the 24-7 access. But the owner and most of his staff should enroll in customer service 101. Their front desks are areas for congregating, socializing and horseplay. The grunge type music at the Ashville Hwy and Upward locations absolutely stinks; and appears to be chosen to entertain the staff without regards to the diversity and the desire of the members. It's nice that they have several locations and are open 24/7, but that is about all. I have tried to cancel my membership multiple times and they make it sooooooooo difficult. The first time, I was told that I had to cancel the membership before 3:00pm, even though they have staff working. The second time, I came in before 3 and was told that I could only cancel my portion of the account and my husband would have to come to cancel his. My husband works and can never get there before 3. I joined this gym a year ago. It is advertised as $20 a month but I paid $34.95 so I could come in before 7 am. The $20 a month is only for one location, no classes and between 7am and 9pm. I enjoyed the early morning people that I worked out with. I only had one complaint and that was that someone was leaving a large amount of weights on some of the equipment. The owner Kevin is disrespectful and rude. The bathrooms are still not finished and the facility has been open close to a year. Treats members rudely and could care less if you're happy with your experience there. More about the money than personal relationships with this guy. Stay clear.
