My daughter Elise had a posterior tie which was finally noticed at age 4 by our dentist (Adventure Dental -Dr Hillyard). We had been to 2 pediatricians, a naturopath and 2 lactation specialists who did not notice the tie and were aware of her inability to breastfeed. Dr. Ghaheri is forging forward with an important work: helping mothers and babies breastfeed effectively, comfortably and successfully. He is open to educating other LIPs interested and wanting to be properly educated. I absolutely love his blog, and refer my patients there to educate themselves, as well as pediatricians who are generally not educated about TT/LT. In short, as an RN IBCLC....he's THE man to go to, or to ask who is best in your neck of the woods ;)
Got our youngest ones ties fixed at 6 weeks. 20 months later, still going strong breastfeeding! Would have never thought it'd be possible! Thank you!
Dr. Gaheri revised my son's tongue tie and allowed me to breastfeed my son exclusively. It was a struggle until his revision. I was able to nurse my son to 2 years.
