Quoted 8hrs for a simple rack and pinion replacement on a 2005 vehicle. Labor only. I explained how it's literally 2 nuts on each side and 2 bolts to the frame. Even when I mentioned this, they quoted 8hrs, which is well over 1k. Hope this is helpful to others.
