All good except for the apples – This was my first experence at a guest house, and I loved it. The Blue Bird was way better than a hotel, but it isn't good for a honeymoon. The walls are kind of thin, but this place was awesome. Immagine you are staying at a friend's house while they are away; that's what the Blue Bird is like. I am totaly planning to visit again. The only down side is that the apples they provide for breakfast were old and mealy.
Simple, inexpensive place to stay – My husband and I stayed here for 4 days in August (summer is their busiest time). We stayed in the Elliott Smith room in the basement. Our room was very clean and simple. All the decorations and furniture in the house is sort of retro but very nice. The kitchen (which you share with the other guests) is large and you can store stuff in the fridge if you need.
