About this business

A Tucson institution for 20 years, this bakery and cafe has set the standard for wholesome food with its omelets, quiches and tofu scrambles. Its glory continues to this day due to the staff's dedication to quality ingredients and service. Don't miss their chocolate dessert dish, which never fails to impress clients and reviewers. Great vegetarian selections – This is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast. I no longer live in Tucson but I go out of my way to eat here anytime I am in town. As a vegetarian for many years, I appreciate their wide array of menu choices and they will substitute or add their delicious tofu to most of their dishes. i especially like the the tofu scramble, breakfast burrito and fresh gazpacho. They also have iced herbal peppermint tea that is refreshing in summer.

great signature dishes but service needs work. – Blue willow has a handful of breakfast dishes that are super yummy and the rest is just o.k. The tofu scramble with brown rice and spinach is a favorite. Pancakes are awesome and the very southwestern blue willow special is really good. Coffee is not as bad as the snob from NY posted. Most people go for breakfast but they also have a few dinner items i.e. fish, that are definitely worth trying. Staff is not usually very friendly or on the ball but it's not fine dining so whate... read more

Pretty good breakfast menu Breakfast here is a fine experience. The breads and pastries were decent but not that memorable. I think the choices were OK, but not always the standard breakfast fare. Unfortunately this place is on one of the most heavy traffic roads and can get busy for large parties on the weekend. The prices were a little above the average breakfast place.

This cafe serves hearty food, an exceptional range of breakfast goodies, and exquisite chocolate desserts. – In Short The menu lists more kinds of omelets than you have fingers and toes; they're bulky and are accompanied by toast, fruit and your choice of potatoes or rice. Most of the breakfast menu is served throughout the day, which may divert you from substantial lunch and dinner offerings such as quiche, crepes, soup, and vegetable and rice dishes. Don't fill up because you'll need room for dessert; pies and cakes are ba... read more

blue willow is cute, but cooks need more training – this may sound snobby, but after a visit to this place (and others around this fair desert city) i have reached the conclusion that anyone thinking of opening a restaurant needs to include a nice lengthy, gustatory trip to NY as part of their training. the atmosphere at the blue willow is lovely - especially when it's not too hot and you can sit in their garden - however the food preparation lacks sophistication and the art of making things delicious. for one thing, the cof... read more

Best Omletes in Town! – I've been to Blue Willow 4 times, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I can't find anything really bad to say about it! The food is fantastic - the omletes are superb, by far the best in town. For lunch, I recommend the crepes, which are fresh and light. The apple salad is so beautifully plated, and not to mention simply delicious. If you're there in the daylight hours, I say sit on the patio if you can - it's like eating in your home garden. Quaint and charming, will definitely go back!

Great food, great ambiance, great to visit with great friends! A warning, though - the food is not always traditional, but a large menu should offer plenty of choices. It's hard to decide which is more pleasant - patio seating for an omelette brunch on a nice spring day, or inside by the fireplace on a winter evening. This restaurant is built around an old adobe home and it includes a wonderful gift shop at the entrance - plan on browsing and spending, as you will see things here you won't find anywhere else. Oh - their wond... read more

Great Bakery! – My finace got me an exquisite chocolate cake from Blue Willow for my birthday. A must for any chocolate lover. Excellent desserts! And who cares if it's not children-friendly (as one reviewer said)? Go somewhere that is, if that's the case.

good but not for kids – Not very child friendly or flexible. Very strict on what they offer at what time of day. Few choices for children from the adult menu and no child's menu. They do have good food overall and we enjoy our visit but can't bring our youngest child. Nice for outdoor eating.
