Disappointed I went to Blue based upon a recommendation of a chef. I was very disappointed. I found the sushi to be very bland. I ordered the baby greens salad with a wasabi-soy dressing. I thought the salad was of fair quality. Then the sushi came out. I ordered the small sushi platter. It had a California roll, tuna roll, and 3 pieces of nigiri. I thought the sushi was very bland and the rice was cold. I was so disappointed. I will not visit this location ever again. On a plus side, the staff was very nice. Well, my barten... read more
Always Wonderful We dine at Blue at least once a month and are happy to see they are now downtown. It is definitely the freshest fish in the city and my guess is that would be due to their high volume. The overall experience is always wonderful. There is always something about the aura that adds to the wonderfull food. There have been times where we have waited just a bit for something, but it is very understandable as it can get extremely busy. We always recommend their restaurants to friends. Keep up the great work!
Stupid John I dont know who John below is but he obviously does not know food. Blue could be Omaha's best restaurant. To say that Kona Grill compares shows ignorance. I have never experienced added gratuity or a problem splitting my check. John must have been a "difficult customer". Largest sushi menu in town and some of the best servers combine to create a wonderful experience.
Good Food and Good Drinks This is a favorite place of mine for both lunch and happy hour. As this was my first experience in sushi, it is my standard. And so far this is a standard that is held high. I generally stick with the rolls of which I have tried many. But recently a friend of mine talked me into trying the Ahi Tuna which was wonderful. It was seared and in a chili sauce. A little pricey but absolutely wonderful. The happy hour specials are wonderful and if you can find somewhere to sit it is completely worth your ti... read more
My Boy Blue!! Blue is hands down the best sushi restaurant in the city. The new menu is amazing and I can't stop ordering the infused Vodka drinks. There is no better place for Happy Hour and absolutely the best place to stick around and people watch all night. The best thing about this place is the freshness and cleanliness, which is a must in a sushi restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great night.
EXTREMELY RUDE assistant manager Like the other reviews, mine is very similar. The service was HORRIBLE. While walking into the restaurant, someone in our party realized the reservation (for only 5 people) was placed at the wrong location. This understandably causes a problem at times, but it was a small reservation and the restaurant was half empty. I immediately let the man (Brian-the assitant manager) at the host stand know that we had accidentally called the wrong restaurant for our reservations. Brian proceeded to speak... read more
Best Sushi in Omaha This is the first place I recommend to friends looking for innovative and fresh sushi. Blue recently redid their menu and I think it has improved. Today I tried the Shishito Peppers and Mango Crab Rangoon, as recommended by our server. Both were very good and will join my regular appetizer order of Edamame at every visit. They also have a new Spicy Edamame which has a tasty mix of spices. I eat here often and also frequent their downtown location. I'm puzzled by the reviews about inadequate service, that ... read more
HORRIBLE service I am sorry but I have to reiterate that the service was particularly bad. It took them 30 minutes to bring us one drink, over an hour for our food, and when the waitress dropped the food off she ran off so quickly we didn't have time to point out we had no chopsticks or silverwear. No one came to check on us (just me and my hubby) so I had to go hunt someone down to bring us silverwear so we could actually eat. There was another couple next to us (that was clearly friends of the wait staff) that came in afte... read more
Best Sushi in town Only place we go in Omaha for Sushi. Employees are friendly. Prices are typical. Only drawback would be how crowded it can get sometimes. Very trendy place, younger (or wanna be younger) type crowd.
