Really enjoyed the stay. The # 27 spt was perfect, service here was terrific. We loved the ping pong table and the library.
I have stayed here numerous times over the last 5 years and have always been satisfied. Family run very dog friendly clean and great value for the money. the patio rooms are nice but I love the two bedroom duplexes located a couple of blocks from the inn. Right behind is the former airport which is now an open space and my dogs love romping there! My husband and I stayed there in late July, and found it very relaxing and comfortable. It's not a fancy place, but somehow that is part of its appeal. The rooms are largish, spartan furniture, but spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. It was delightful to be able to step out onto a very private balcony and find chaise lounges to loll about upon. The staff are pleasant, and there is a huge, homey room filled with books, comfy chairs, games and music. My only complaint is that the in-room coffee pots are too small.
The aim of the stay was to have a central point for exploring the area, and going to the MotoGP at Laguna Seca. It couldn't have been better. Just off the main road, quiet with a great little village 2 minutes away( Carmel Valley) All the staff/owners were most welcoming, and the accommodation was very comfortable, clean and warm. My parents stayed here in the 50's/60's so it was kind of a nostalgia trip back in time, including still having my parents registration cards on "file"! We have stayed there numerous times and have never been disappointed! Of course it does not have all of the modern amenities, but the grounds, the pool setting and the management, is wonderful! This was our fourth time over ten years staying at the Blue Sky Lodge and it was the most pleasant! The Blue Sky :Lodge is not a luxury destination, but after a four night stay you feel relaxed and ready to face the world. We have been staying here, with and without our children (now adults) for 25 years. To us Blue Sky Lodge feels like our second home. We have stayed in the patio rooms, the rooms near the swimming pool, and the apartments on Via Contenta. Every time we go to Blue Sky Lodge we wish we could stay longer. We enjoy walking to the good restaurants nearby, visiting several sets of friends who live in Carmel Valley, driving to Carmel and Monterey (where we have also stayed), cooking our meals in rooms with kitchens, shopping at the ... read more
I love Blue Sky Lodge. I have been going there with my husband and daughter for about 18 years. It is a small, family run place. It is NOT high-end, but it is very comfortable. They may not have fancy toiletries in the bathrooms but what they DO offer is peace and quiet and serenity. The pool is beautiful-- it feels like you are sitting in someone's lovely, grassy backyard. We stayed at this lovely out of the way lodge in the late spring and early fall. It's not a top star retreat by any means, but the rooms were big, the kitchenettes clean, the staff friendly and the pool heated. They were pet and child friendly and were quick to answer any of our requests. We loved every minute of our stay and always return to this establishment when we are in the area.
