It seems as if every city in the U.S. has a place called the 'Blue Note'. In OKC however, this one is not named after the legendary jazz label. Nevertheless, since 1951 this particular one has provided the sounds of every type of music imaginable, not just jazz. The venue is dedicated to bringing live music to OKC. PA can be loud, so bring some quality ear protection. Good natured regulars...you’ll feel welcomed...never mind the tattoos, piercings, Mohawks, and leather.
I saw Katie Webster there sometime in the 1990s I had a rum and coke and then an Amaretto Sour...they were both very good. My mother born just one year after Charlie Christian supposedly saw Charlie Christian there??? So I like it for historic and nostalgic reasons.
10/10 love this place. I've played here numerous times, been to countless shows, and spent no telling how many hours here. One of the best OKC establishments
