In early November 2025 BCBS sent me a nasty letter saying that they had again reassigned me to a new PCP. I didn't want to see anyone associated with Banner Hospital, so I ignored it. Two days before Thanksgiving a car ran a stop sign and hit me while I was crossing the intersection on my bike. Went to one of heir approve Urgent Care centers. Bluw Cross has started using a company called Evicore to manage their authorization requests. Evicore is lazy and has very rude customer service! They ask for proof that you need procedures done again that you get done every year and were approved last year. Like my CT scan of my lungs. Then they want the patient or my new doctor to get the reports for them. That should be Their job to contact the clinic if they want more information about my CT scan from last year! If I could give them zero stars I would. I have been fighting with them for over 2 months to get a medication approved with prior authorization. Since I have documented allergies to medication they refuse to approve it, even with a documented contraindication. Everytime you call you are told that the dr didnt' send the information in. Yet everytime I go to the dr office they can provide the proof that they sent it and so who knows why no one knows what happened to it on BCBS AZ end. This company is awful. If I could, I would give no stars. It screwed up the billing system for everyone months ago when it was billed in advance. The computer system went down, so it switched to billing in arrears. Fair enough. Now, it is trying to bill again in advance by making it harder to make only a double payment for online payments. You are forced to double pay online while the company tries to sneak a bailout for its error unfairly. Look elsewhere for insurance.
The software that drives their platform continues to be a mess. Customer Service is NON EXISTANT
For 2 years straight, BCBS-AZ has failed to properly apply payments to my deductible and MOP. This year, once again, a failure exists. I have paid over $5000 on a $7000 deduct. BCBS-AZ says "we know there is an issue with this and we don't know when it will be fixed". Really? That's the best they can do?
Where is the management to take care of servicing customers? They changed their web site without testing it to make sure that it works properly. Calling customer service is useless, the wait is over an hour, they don't return calls. This morning I was timed out when I tried to use the web site. It has been over a month that BCBS has been very disfunctional!!!

New to BCBSAZ and so far they are useless. Will not answer emails and trying to call is an endless "on hold". Have not even tried to file a claim yet! Just trying to pay my bill. Cannot wait until I can change plans.
